These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Mindglade ("Mindglade", "we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the Mindglade browser extension, our websites at www.mindglade.com and user.mindglade.com, and any related services (together, the "Service"). By installing the extension, creating an account, or subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Please also read our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.
1. The Service
Mindglade is a browser extension that helps you hide distracting parts of websites and block sites you choose. We offer a free tier and a paid subscription, Mindglade Pro, which unlocks unlimited site blocking, per-feature content filters, cross-browser sync, and priority support. We may add, change, or remove features over time. We do not guarantee that any particular website or platform will remain blockable, since third-party sites can change their structure at any time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Accounts
You can install and use the free tier without an account. An account is required only to subscribe to Mindglade Pro or to sync your blocklist across browsers. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Mindglade Pro is offered on a recurring subscription basis, billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you select. Payments are processed by Stripe; by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms. By starting a subscription you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account page via the Stripe billing portal. When you cancel, your subscription stops renewing and your Pro access continues until the end of the current paid period. You will not be charged again after cancellation.
- Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Any change applies to future billing periods, and we will give you reasonable notice before a price change takes effect. Continuing to use Mindglade Pro after a price change means you accept the new price.
- Taxes. Prices may exclude applicable taxes, which may be added at checkout where required.
5. Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. In summary, payments are generally non-refundable, but we consider refund requests case by case and may grant them at our discretion. You can cancel at any time to stop future charges and keep access until the end of your paid period. Nothing in our Refund Policy limits refund or cancellation rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with the Service's billing, entitlement, or security features.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service without our written permission.
- Access the Service through automated means in a way that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data.
7. License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Mindglade extension for your own use. We and our licensors retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Service, including the software, branding, and content we provide. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or logos.
8. Third-party services and content
The Service relies on third parties — including the Chrome Web Store, Stripe, and our hosting and backend providers — and interacts with third-party websites that you choose to block or filter. We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their content, practices, or availability. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that party's own terms.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully effective at blocking every piece of content, or that it will be compatible with every browser version or website change.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mindglade will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) CAD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mindglade from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension and, if applicable, cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to us, other users, or third parties. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — will survive.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, take reasonable steps to notify subscribed users. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that the courts located in Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
